The sustainable development of primary education in rural areas depends on that of teachers, so realizing the sustainable development of rural junior middle schools is to promote the sustainable development of their teachers. This paper selects teachers in rural junior middle school of Zhangshu as researching objects, observed and analyzed their sustainable development present situation, the main points as follows:Firstly, based on the summarization of the academic literatures, this paper has ascended the academic foundation of teachers sustainable development, sum up the backgrounds, the present situation and academic origins, discussed academic and practical significances for studying the sustainable development of teachers in rural junior middle schools. It comes to a conclusion that, studying on the sustainable development of teachers in rural junior middle schools can help to promote junior teachers selves development and improve the levels of teaching in rural areas; can promote the sustainable development of students and improve their overall qualities; can promote curriculum reform process to carry out smoothly and insure to speed up primary education reform and development; it can also promote the sustainable development of mankind.Secondly, based on the questionnaire survey, this paper analyzes the influencing factors of teacher's sustainable development in rural junior middle schools. Taking teacher as the frame of reference, these factors are classified as inner and exterior factors. The inner factors include lack of modern education philosophy; weak special basic knowledge; subjectivity deficiency etc. Exterior factors are represented as the lagged system of teacher education, the unreasonable teaching evaluation system, the outmoded discipline of school system and the cultural obstruction on teachers etc.Thirdly, after consulting relative academic literatures, combined with the actual status of teaching in rural junior middle schools, this paper discusses and studies some main countermeasures and advices for promoting teacher's sustainable development in rural junior middle schools. This paper holds the points that, to promote the sustainable development of teachers in rural junior middle schools, they should endeavor to construct the inner and exterior support conditions. In aspect of inner factors, the author protests that teachers should upgrade their integral qualities constantly. In aspect of exterior promotion, setting up the people-oriented scientific management principle,building up a learning-style school culture and the further improvement on teacher cultivate and training system are strongly advocated.
