Collective Action Logic

Today the society of China is in the unstable condition of transition period. The collective action for the purpose of the interest demands is increasing, so many Letters and Visits Offices at all levels are set up to deal with such incidents which are called "maintenance of stability". But the government departments' "maintenance of stability" does not fundamentally solve the problem. More and more collective action evolves into a collective protest which becomes a significant trend. This paper takes the taxi strikes which are more representative of the collective action in the X City for example and uses the Olson's collective action theory and empirical analysis to find why the collective action is likely to occur in China, and increasingly become a substitute for the laws and the principles.
