Suqian City The School Basketball Training Status Quo Study

After-school sports training is an integral part of training system in our country. It is the only way for cultivation of potential athletes. Basketball as a very popular after-school sport, gains more and more attention in all schools. After-school basketball training has become an important part of sports work. However, due to the special process of Suqian development and current economic situation, there is a great gap in the development of basketball between Suqian and other areas of the province. Middle schools as the main sites for cultivation of potential athletes, still have many problems in the after-school training,which directly affects the development of basketball in Suqian.This paper, by using documents, questionnaires, expert interviews, statistics and logical analysis, mainly analyses and studies the current situation of coach teams, athlete teams and the logistic support in Suqian basketball training.The study results show:1,The factors obstructing the after-school basketball training in Suqian are inadequate attention of corresponding authorities, low parental support, class teachers'low support, inadequate training time, relatively low training frequency and lack of funds for after-school basketball training.2, The imperfect selection systme of coaches in Suqian keeps down the enthusiasm of a considerable number of good coaches.3, While the age structure of middle school basketball coaches in Suqian is good and their education levels high, the low professional level of coaches and the lack of professionally trained coaches make it impossible to achieve successful training and competition.4, High school basketball coaches don't have a good knowledge of training objectives, tasks and there exists a common lack of motivation and sense of responsibility. Training program development and implementation rate are not enough. They have serious utilitarian thinking. The direct causes of this phenomenon are the low pay, few opportunities to participate in job training and teachers'lack of devotion to scientific research in the training process.5, There are few competitions and a relatively small number of competitive teams in Suqian, and then the few teams available lack proper development of strategy and tactics.6, After-school basketball training system in Suqian is not perfect. There is a block to free flow of talent student athletes in primary schools, middle schools and universities. The main source of high school basketball players in Suqian is ordinary students. The main motivation for training students is for them to enter universities.7, The students who participate in the training are relatively poor in their studies. Students generally agree that participating in the training course will affect their study. Schools don't take adequate measures to help athletes who are absent from classes because of training and competitions, as they should. Thus, this has a direct impact on the further uplifting of their competency.Based on the above conclusions, we propose following countermeasures:1, introduce clear purposes to create a good atmosphere.2, seek multi-channel funds 3, create a sound system for selecting coaches, especially the best coaches.4, establish a sound system of after-school basketball training and competition to ensure the free and diversified flow of talent athletes.5, strengthen the training of coaches to improve their expertise.6, promote after-school basketball training in scientific research.7, correctly handle the conflict between classroom studying and training.
