Research On The Current Situation Of Extracurricular Training Of The Provincial Traditional Basketball Schools In Hubei Province

The schools of traditional sports (the schools of tradition for short) refer to the middle schools and primary schools holding the sport activities frequently and outstanding in one or two particular events, which can date back to1980s. The school of traditional sports is one of the basic forms of the physical education at school. It not only promotes the traditional sport events but also educates the athletes well, by which it fills the gap between literacy education and physical education. Recently, the schools of traditional sports keep on reforming, transforming the view of schooling, regulating the management, enhancing the combination of literacy education and physical education, in order to perfect the system of educating reserve forces. The schools of Physical traditional sports, as the basic of the three-levels system of athletes training and management, train a lot of sport talents with good literacy knowledge. Since the period of primary school and middle school is important to put a solid foundation of the basketball talent, it is significant to strengthen the spare time training of the sports traditional events.This thesis sets out to examine the extracurricular training of20schools of basketball in Hubei Province. Questionnaires, statical methods and induction will be employed as methodological lens by which to investigate the current situations. By analyzing the problems and relative reasons in the function of the schools of traditional sports, this thesis aims to provide suggestions for the development of the schools of basketball in Hubei Province.The research in this thesis includes four parts as following, the general review of the current situation of The schools of Physical traditional sports in China, the general review of the current situation of the schools of traditional sports in Hubei Province, the features of the coaches in schools of Basketball and the situation of the athletes. According to the investigation, there are six problems in schools of Basketball as the unreasonable distribution of the schools of basketball, deficient management, insufficient financing channels, incomplete competition systems, the unscientific method applying in selecting the athletes and the absence of the guidance.By investigation and analysis, it is suggested that the coaches should be trained in a professional way and the spare time exercise should be improve. Moreover, the literacy education and sports professional training should be combined well. The materials should be chosen in a scientific way with reasonable training plan. The competition system should be made to be diversified to meet different situation.
