Moral Function And Countermeasure Research Of Volunteer Service In The Western Region

Since 2003, the project of encouraging graduates of colleges and universities volunteering to the west has been developing well, and a multitude of undergraduates with lofty ideals, moral integrity, better education, and good sense of discipline as well as consciousness of responsibility and historic mission have been assigned to serve for the west for 1-3 years through open recruitment, voluntary application, organized selection and concentrated sent. The implementation of the policy of western plan encourages youth volunteers to go to the west, to the grassroots, to the place where the motherland needs them best building a solid career, to help them achieve their ideal and social value, to promote the region's economic and social development, to promote the ideological and political education and the development of college students' moral education. Due to the relatively short time of the implementation of the western plan, the number of people researching the western program is little, and people researching the moral function of volunteer service are less. The thesis takes the moral function as the content of college students volunteer service, because the moral education of college students volunteer service of western work plan is not only the new situation and the new carrier of the ideological and political education, but also the main contents of the effective moral education and moral function, developing the new approach and the new method. This thesis studying college students volunteer service for the moral education function of western plan, has important significance in carrying forward the voluntary spirit of ideological and political education, exploring the moral education work, especially the effective implementation of that, and has important practical significance in helping young students establish a correct outlook on world, life and values, and as well in cultivating college students' sense of responsibility and history.The author of the thesis has interviewed the volunteers (from 2003-2010, in Xinjiang) in the western plan using qualitative research methods, and given a detailed analysis, which finds that there are some moral education function problems that can not be solved in the implementation of the western plan, to explore the approaches that can get rid of the constraint elements in the implementation of the western plan, to strive to provide for Xinjiang the moral function of development platform and space in the implementation of the planning process. The thesis can be divided into five parts except for the introduction part and the conclusion part.The first part:Mainly defines related content on the moral function of college students volunteering service and discusses. The theoretical basis required in detail, which will provide powerful theoretical basis for moral function study of the college students' Voluntary service in the western region.The second part:Mainly discusses volunteer spirit and the function of the voluntary service. For volunteers, volunteer spirit is the internal power in voluntary activities and the basic necessary principle to follow. Moral function of Voluntary service in the western region is not only one part of moral education from volunteer service, but also an important part of efficient ideological and political education and efficient moral education. It is an effective reflection of moral education in the social practice. The implementation of voluntary service in the western region, as a new vehicle of efficient moral education, does not dominate stealth capabilities of the moral function but highlight a range of issue, which laid the foundation for studying moral function in process of implementing the western region plan and understanding the current implementation situation in the western region.The third part is to identify the characteristics of Xinjiang province's implementation of the western region plan and its the moral function, to analyze the role of moral education of Volunteer Service in the western region through the implementation of volunteer service in the western region of Xinjiang province.The forth part:The author sort out interviews with 11 volunteers participating the western region plan in Xinjiang province and explore the issue of moral functioning in the implementation of western region plan by means of qualitative research, then seek ways to address these issues through analysis of organization, society and individuals.The fifth part:In order to promote the smooth implementation of Western plans and give full play to its moral function, the author provided highly operable ways on how to ensure leading role of moral function in the Western plans after exploring the above parts, expecting to make a little effort in improving the level of ideological and political education and improving the leading position of moral function in the western plan.
