Reflection Of The Love Of Science Education

Nowadays, science & technology has become a kind of indispensable practical activity of human beings, and a kind of social organizational system. Our life is full of science, and this is scientific times. Science has provided affluent material conditions which are unprecedented for our human beings. So its powerful social function has been experienced. Obviously, our society would not be so advanced and developed like this without science, a kind of impetus.It seems that science should be loved, be worshiped because of its powerful function. Even like the traditional virtues of our nation, worship of science has been a kind of social morality. Loving science has become an item of moral education in schools. Furthermore, our education has also been influenced by this idea. It expresses the idea of science worship in all aspects. Evidently, the education of loving science has its own social background. This idea is actually another kind of thought of science save nation, which emerged in the periods of Westernization Movement and the May Fourth Movement. So this idea implies our nation's dream about becoming powerful. On the other hand, superstitious belief has been dispelled because of science populization. Meanwhile, people's spiritual sustenance has also been broken down. Then, science has taken the place of belief. So science worship seems well-reasoned.However, science worship does not correspond with scientific spirit. As to science itself, it can be mistaken, and its negative effects have appeared with its development. Let alone we are treating science in a wrong way. So, many moral consequences should be produced. Therefore, we should re-establish our science education. With the scientific spirit as a core, our science education should help students to treat science objectively, and get rid of the idolization of science. On the other hand, our science education should highlight its humanity to alert the negative effects of science.
