Education is considered to be the best solution to the new issues caused by the development of technology in the new century and the changes of pattern.People begin to fix their eyes on the quality of teachers and the growth of teachers more and more.Teachers are the first recource of education.The overall quality of the teachers is the key to the comprehensive strength of a country,and is the basis of the quality of the whole nation.Under this background,the schools all over the country are engaged in education reform in full swing for surviving and developing,such as,changing educational philosophy,the introduction of competition mechanism and strengthening the training of teachers,even at the cost of buiding the signs of famouse schools and teachers.The times call for famouse teachers,and is pregnant with famouse teachers.An important symbol of the birth of a famouse teacher,is the formation of a unique style of teaching.First,this article made a sort of the related research about teaching style at home and abroad, and made a definition of the "teaching style" that appears in this study.That's to say.teaching style is highly unifonn pattern that teachers formed in the long course of teaching and practice,including the creative combination and reflection of teaching strategies,teaching evaluation methods,teaching environment creation,teaching goals design and their teaching ideas.It is a sign that teaching art and teaching individulized instruction reach a stable condition.Secondly,the author summarized analysed the status,the difficulties of the teaching style of English teachers in senior high school through interviews,observation of teaching activities in classroom and the collation of the literature collected.Finally the author made a statement about the constraints and shortcomings and gave the prospect to the following study.In order to study the formation of teaching style of English teachers in senior high school,this paper employs the method of analysis of case and questionnaire to reveal the internal and external factors thar affect the formation of teaching style of English teachers in senior high school.It points out that only a small part of English teachers in senior high school have their own teaching style.Most of the teachers do not realise the importance of teaching style and its effect on the students'study style.On the basis of analysing the result of the native and foreigh leanners'study and summarizing the growth experience of a lot of outstanding teachers,this paper reveals the formation of teaching style,and the problem we need to pay attention to in the process of forming teaching style.Next the author gave some advice to the school administers and the teachers on how to improve teaching style.
