A Research Of The Dilemma Of Graduate-village-official's Mate-selection

The graduate-village-official plan not only alleviates the university student's employment pressure, but also meets the needs of new rural areas construction. Encouraged by the national policy, more and more college students joined the graduate-village-official team. Meanwhile, more and more problems are also starting to show. Scholars begin to concern the problem that how to make graduate-village-official stay down. In my opinion, in order to keep them stay down, on the one hand we should keep them with enterprise, and on the other hand we should create advantageous conditions for theirs'marriage in local. And mate-selection is the first step of marriage. Therefore, mate-selection became the research topic of graduate-village-official in this paper.Based on the sociological theory, such as the theory of similar matching and mating gradient, using the method of questionnaire survey and individual interview, and choosing the graduate-village-official in Hubei province as the research object, this paper describes characteristics of expectations and dilemma of graduate-village-official's mate-selection during the tenure period, and discusses the impact of the individual factors, job factors, family factors on the dilemma of mate-selection.The conclusion shows that:most of graduate-village-official reluctant to seek mate during the tenure period, and choose graduate-village-official as mate, tend to choose the groups who have steady income as mate, such as civil servants, educational workers and so on. Knowing each other by himself is the favorite way for graduate-village-official. But they don't reject the way of being introduced through acquaintances to meet the heterosexual. Most of the graduate-village-officials are disgusted with blind date. In addition, there are quite a number of graduate-village-official are willing to seek mate in local.It is difficulty to find mate in local for most of graduate-village-official. And the job of "village official" is the main reason which makes mate-selection difficulty. The personal factors, such as sex, registered permanent residence, educational level, have no relation with mate-selection. But personal ability plays an important role in sustaining or developing love relationship. The impact of job factors on mate-selection expressed that: low wages can't afford the cost of love; narrow communication circle, few opposite sex with quite age or having similar experiences, causing finding right mate difficulty; be busy with job, causing having no time or mind to seek mate; having uncertain future after the expiry, causing parents unwilling their own children contact with graduate-village-official; etc. Family finances, mother's career, all have significant relation with mate-selection, but father's career has no significant correlation with.Therefore, in order to keep graduate-village-official stay down, the government should increase their wage and income, social status and influence; improve the selection, withdrawal mechanism, remove their worries after expiry; and create a good environment for their marriage in local.
