| With the further development of reform and opening up, and the rapid development of economy and society higher education of China has advanced from elite stage to mass one. Popularization of higher education not only opened the way to the palace gates of knowledge, but also changed people's cognitions and views. Old-fashioned senses have been gradually abandoned. Women have gained more and more attentions. The size of female graduate students has been expanding gradually. Female graduate students are the elites in women's society, and play a role in leading others. Therefore, doing research on the topic of female graduate students'mate choices can grasp well on basic characteristics and future direction of the whole Chinese women's mate choice.This paper applied questionnaires and interviews for Z University female graduate students, to explore characteristics, problems and solutions of their mate selection from a multicultural view in the new era. This is the aim of the paper. Firstly this paper investigated the view of present situation of female graduate students' mate selection by questionnaires and interviews at Z University, analyzed collected data and summed up the characteristics of female graduate students'mate choice from the whole concept. Secondly, it classified the data and compared differences of female graduate students'mate choices from the aspects of age, discipline, and family background, concluded that there are some differences on mate choice, even are not significant, especially in mate motivation and mate manner. However, there are big differences on the view of mate determination and mate treatment of female graduate students from different disciplines and family backgrounds. According to this, to find out deep reasons which cause these differences such as family reason, personal reason, and social reason etc. And then, to further analyze them. The last part of the paper provided suggestions for problems which appeared in the process of mate choice. |
