National medium and long-term educational reform and development program (2010-2020) indicates that cultivating models of talents should be innovated to meet the demand of national and social development. Education rules and growth patterns of talents should be adhered to. Pedagogical reforms should be further deepened. Teaching methods should be innovated. Various training models should be explored so that large numbers of outstanding people as well as top-notch innovative personnel will come out in succession. In-depth study on cultivation of talented students should be carried out in chemistry teaching, which is to meet the need of qualified personnel for national development, and is of great necessity for pedagogical reforms as well as student development.Based on literature reviews, the thesis summarizes related theories and practice modes to cultivate gifted students, carries out teaching practice on the cultivation of chemistry gifted students and explores the approaches to cultivating chemistry gifted students in the new curriculum context.In teaching practice, the writer put forwards and employs the following teaching methods to cultivate high-school chemistry gifted students:(1)Synchronic extension:On the basis of high-school chemistry lessons, the curriculum will be arranged properly for the quick cultivation of gifted students. (2)Autonomous learning guidance:Those top students will read college textbooks extensively under the guidance of teachers and study college chemistry independently. (3)Question discussion:Students will participate in the discussion concerning certain study subjects, during which students'critical thinking as well as innovation capability will be enhanced. (4) Thesis seminar:After full preparation on the subject, both teachers and students will discuss in groups in class, during which students'team collaboration, communication skills and leading capacity will be trained. (5) Extracurricular book reading:Students learning interest will be aroused and their knowledge will be broadened through reading. (6) Research on the self-efficacy feeling and learning motivation will be activated.It has been proved that those approaches are of great value to arouse students' learning curiosity and develop critical thinking, innovation awareness, independent consciousness and leading capacity, which will improve the cultivating level of chemistry gifted students to some extent.On the other hand, high school training of talented students is a systematic and long-term project. There are still some unknown rules remaining to be discovered. There is also some room for improvement in the actual teaching practice and measures taken in class. Nevertheless, I will devote myself to the further and ever-lasing approach and study on this subject.
