The Comparative Analysis Of Campus Culture Between Whampoa Military Academy And West Point Military Academy And The Inspiration For The Construction Of National University Of Defense And Technology

The campus culture is a vital part of social culture. To improve the students'qualities, it infuses students with culture awareness and shapes their characters in a subtle way. As the academy that cultivates special talents, the military academy has its particular intension and characters in culture. Going deep into this research is good for theoretically and practically promoting the building of military academy culture and cultivating of military talents.Taking Whampoa Military Academy and West Point Military Academy as an example, this paper comparatively analyzes the culture of the two famous academies and points out that the historical context of replacing old with new endowed the Whampoa Military Academy with a vivid times Characteristic, the revolutionary spirit of patriotism was a central feature of the campus culture, and the construction of both software and hardware was the way of forming the campus culture. On the other hand, the combination of personal values and social values of West Point Military Academy culture reflected the inheritance of American society culture, the unification of harsh competition and genuine solidarity reflected the extreme importance of cultivating the soldier characteristic in West Point, and the physical exercise and the construction of campus environment was the way of forming the campus culture. Based on the study of the two campus culture, this paper analyzes the similarities and differences between them, gives some useful illuminations for the campus culture construction of NUDT according to their experiences and deficiencies, and puts forward some practical suggestions on contemporary soldier abilities aiming to the features of future high-tech war.
