In modern society, “being healthy” is a comprehensive concept which include psychological health. China’s armed forces rely on the new generation of military talents with all round quality. Military academy is the place to cultivate healthy military officers and psychological health is a compulsory part of education in military academy. Therefore, it is urgent to enhance the psychological education of the cadets.In military academy, there are many strict rules, intense trainings and other competitions. Cadets often feel intense physiological and psychological pressure. Owing to the social environment and military administration, cadets in military academy are experiencing great mental and psychological shock which in turn result in many psychological problems. Therefore, scientific suggestions and counter measures against these psychological problems are of great significance to the combat capability of our armed forces and are also important in improving the quality of military officers.1000 undergraduate cadets(include 50 female cadets) participated in this research. The research was conducted with the tool of SCL-90, which is called “Symptom Check-list”. After the survey with the check list, in-depth interviews were carried out. The influence of different factors affecting cadets’ psychological health were analyzed which include the cadets’ gender, grades in school, the place of the academy, and whether they are single child at home, etc. And a regression analysis about these factors was conducted.First the paper illustrates the concept, the standard and the necessity of psychological health of college students and military cadets. Then, the relationship between psychological health education and ideological education is provided. In this part, the possibility and beneficiary effects of putting psychological health education into ideological education in the military academy are discussed. Third, the problems in the psychological education in military academy are analyzed which come down to the following aspects, namely, lack of understanding of the inner meaning of psychological education in military academy, inadequate previous researches on it and etc. This paper conducted in a military academy reaches the some results about psychological education with SCL-90 and conducted an analysis on the reasons of the research results. In the last part, the paper puts forward six counter measures against psychological problems with military cadets and suggestions about psychological education in military academy. They are: to improve the adaptive training of cadets; develop the innovative ability of cadets; foster self-confidence of cadets; give guidance to cadets in respect to interpersonal relationship; improve cadets’ endurance of setbacks and the psychological education ability of military academy.All in all, the development of modern armed forces requires the research on the psychological education on cadets in military academy. It is of great significance to the healthy development of cadets and even for the realization of the goal to cultivate outstanding military talents.
