The period of junior high school is the key stage of the basic education, which connects the primary school with the senior high school, playing a decisive role in cultivating high-quality citizens. China is a large agricultural country and the rural citizens account for most of the population, therefore, the basic education in rural areas is our focus and improving junior high school education there is the key to the improvement of the quality of the citizens. The main approach to promoting junior high school education in rural areas is to improve the professional standard of teachers, especially the Chinese ones. In addition, the Chinese teachers in rural junior high school occupy a large proportion in China, so their professional development, to a large extent, reflects the standard of teachers in whole, and to some extent, of the basic education in China. At present, the condition of the development of Chinese teachers in rural junior high school is not optimistic and it is crucial to promote their professional standard.This paper focuses on the professional development of Chinese teachers in junior high school, selecting the southern and northern rural areas in Anhui Province to make the survey. The paper describes some problems and influential factors in their professional development, and put forward several approaches which are practical to the realistic condition in their development, in order to make a contribution to the improvement of the whole quality of the Chinese teacher in rural areas as well as the balanced development of urban and rural education.Through the literature study, investigation and case study, we can find some existing problems of professional development of Chinese teacher in rural junior high school, such as the weak consciousness of their own professional development and scientific research, the low lever of teaching abilities, teachers'training, and school hardware facilities, as well as the insufficient quantity of professional books and so on.And the causes of these problems are complicated, among which the teachers'training and their own problems are the main factors influencing the professional development of Chinese teachers in rural junior high school. Accordingly, to improve the standard of them, some measures can be taken as follows:Firstly, society and relevant departments should attach more importance to the professional development of them to create a good social environment; Secondly, schools should take practical measures to encourage teachers to "recharge", providing good condition for the professional development of teachers; Thirdly, the training of teachers should be strengthened and improved; Lastly, the unique resource in rural areas should be fully used and the way of teachers' own professional development should be broadened.
