After China's higher education popularization, the ecological diversity increasingly highlights. The quality and classified development of higher educations are increasingly concerned, and the college training the applied talents enters an unprecedented development period.As we all know, teachers are the subject of higher education. To improve the training quality of applied talents, and to run the characteristics of application-oriented institutions, one of the keys is to have the teaching staff with a competent professional of undergraduate education, and with high levels. Teaching ability is the important guarantee of the quality of personnel training. However, from a practical perspective, the application-oriented institutions, in the way of exploring the application of undergraduate education, are not clear about the requirements and the ways of application-oriented talents. Teaching ability is often difficult to adapt to the training. The faculty is the obstacle element of the quality of personnel training. Therefore, exploring the teaching situation, the capability enhancement and other issues in application-oriented institutions will undoubtedly have a strong theoretical and practical significance.First, the essay sorts out the current papers on the application-oriented institutes and the teaching capacity. Based on the questionnaire survey of the application-oriented institutes (for A college in Anhui Province an example), the essay analyzes the overall teaching situation, and points out the main problems. Research shows that, due to the subjective and objective factors, the teaching capability enhancement in application-oriented institutions is restricted, and there may be weakening trend, which restricts the further improvement of training quality of application-oriented undergraduate talents and directly impacts its education quality. Finally, the paper presents the following strategies to work out those problems; strengthening self-training, and improving the teachers' professional quality; changing the educational philosophy, and enhancing the awareness of applied education; innovating the design of the system, and leading the teaching ability; reforming teaching mode, and promoting the teaching capacity; promoting production-learning-research cooperation, improving teachers' professional capacity; creating a culture of cooperation, and promoting teachers' learning community, which promote the teaching ability, and thus advance the training quality of applied talents.
