Under the construction of our socialism harmonious society, the "harmony" thought has penetrated into many aspects of the society. A harmonious society needs harmonious persons, and harmonious persons need harmonious education. The harmonious education is not only an appeal in modern times, a representation of the essence of education, but also a good solution to the maladjustment problem in the current education field. Compared with the knowledge education, the technical training or the present quality-oriented education, the harmonious education may give a better solution to the maladjustment development problem of human being itself or between human beings and the society or nature, providing people with a better, harmonious and full development. The harmonious education theory is now accepted by more and more people in education field. The study of typical features of harmonious education in modern times is a benefit for a better understanding of the harmonious education theory, to develop and complete of the harmonious education system, to form a correct harmonious education view, and a benefit for the formation, evaluation and usage of the harmonious education system, as well as a benefit for the research of rules and regulations made by the government. It is an academic mission for the education workers nowadays to study of the truth of harmonious education in modern times.The harmonious education is an extremely complex system. This article firstly gives the explanation of harmonious and harmonious education, to indicate the features and thoughts of harmonious and clarify the meaning and purpose of harmonious education. Then it carries a systemic analysis of the history of harmonious education thoughts in and abroad China, as well as the main factors that affect the harmonious education. After that, on the bases of the Marx about Person's Integrated Development Theory, the Law of the Unity of Opposites, and the Scientific Concept of Development, it promotes the three typical features of the harmonious education in modern times in our harmonious society construction period.Firstly, the harmonious education has a typical view of philosophy and orientation. The harmonious education philosophy believe that the purpose of harmonious education is to make human beings fully developed to reach a harmonious spirit. And it takes a complex orientation way that meet both the need of people and the society. Secondly, the harmonious education reflects the justice and typical features and innovation of education. The justice is one of the functions of harmonious education; the typical features are an appeal of the harmonious education development, and the innovation just reflects the vitality of harmonious education system. Thirdly, the harmonious education reflects the three-dimensional values of person's integrated and harmonious development. It insists that people should have a fully development which is harmonious with the nature and the society. At the end of the paper, it gives a briefly preview of how to realize the harmonious education in our harmonious society construction period.
