It is obvious that senior high school, as a key transition between junior school and college, is of great significance. The advancement of our society together with the opening up of traditional ideas contributes to the sexual equality on the whole in the admission of senior high school. Surprisingly, sexual equality in education brings out an interesting phenomenon that generally girls score higher than boys in almost all the examinations, including national college entrance examinations. Having discovered this, the writer conducts a study on this topic based on a sample of students in a senior high school.By collecting and comparing the scores of both boys and girls in the national college entrance examinations in Jiangsu Province from the year 2008 to the year 2011 in Changshu Meili Middle School, this article comes to the conclusion that the"Girl-dominated"Phenomenon in Jiangsu college entrance examinations does exist.Then what is it that causes this phenomenon? This paper adopted the method of questionnaire, asking a random sample of students that range from Senior Grade One to Senior Grade Three to complete a number of questions. Under the guidance of previous researches, after carefully studying their learning situations respectively, this article tries to reveal several important factors leading to the"Girl-dominated"Phenomenon. Besides that, this article further explores this phenomenon and analyses its potential effects on our society. By trying to put forward a few suggestions and methods, this article aims to be of some help to the practice of education for different genders in senior high schools in China.
