| Chinese language taught in the middle school establishes a basic discipline and considered as an important learning tool. Reading teaching is the pinnacle of the Chinese teaching of middle school; Yet for many years, this field remains unsatisfactory. This paper USES the data analysis, case studies and literature research to point out current shortfalls in the system, and discusses the details of the multi-dimensioned approach and its benefits. First, the paper analyzes the current situation of Chinese reading teaching technique in middle school: teacher's "teaching technique" is not satisfactory and student's "reading technique" is not any better. It then points out the benefits of applying multi-dimensioned approach to teach reading in middle school: the important significance of communication between teachers and students, the benefits for the teachers to adopt the most appropriate teaching methods, the benefits for the students to gain a deep understanding of the text. The main part of the paper, first assesses the system through teacher's perspective, looks at teaching text book from a student's perspective, assuming student's position in audience, and adaptability in teaching styles; it then studies the system from a student's perspective, in aspects of empathy, the feasibility of text, adaptability to student's learning style; as well, places students in a teacher's position. From all these angles, the paper concludes that the multi-dimensioned approach to teach reading in middle school has its important significance. It also provides a practical strategy to effectively implement the multi-dimensioned approach to teach reading in middle school therefore, enhance the Chinese reading comprehension. |
