Reflective study is the study based on reflections of learning process in the hope of solving practical study problems. The development of students'reflective study abilities can not only enhance students'learning and innovative abilities, but also meet the needs of the reform in basic education.Senior One Chemistry teaching plays a transitional role in chemistry teaching, in that on the one hand, it is closely connected with chemistry teaching in Compulsory Education level, and on the other hand, it lays an essential foundation for the study of forthcoming modules (in Senior High School). According to the physiological and psychological characteristics of Senior One students and the important role of Senior One Chemistry teaching, it's significant to carry out a study in strategies to develop the reflective study abilities of Senior One students.A questionnaire to investigate Senior One students'reflective study abilities in Chemistry has revealed that the vast majority of them is reflection-conscious and can realize the importance of reflective study. But their consciousness is not strong enough to form reflective habits or carry out reflective study. Aiming at developing Senior One students'reflective study abilities, this paper has analyzed their physiological and psychological characteristics, the knowledge system of Senior One Chemistry, and the factors affecting reflective study. Based on practical teaching experience, the author has studied the strategies to develop Senior One students'reflective study abilities in Chemistry, and hence put forward teaching strategies in cultivating their reflective study abilities: Stimulate students'interest in study by all means; create a variety of classroom situations to enhance students'reflection-consciousness; adopt incentive evaluations to strengthen students'self-confidence in reflection; and develop students'reflective study abilities by the teachers'own examples.
