The Research Of The Functions In Humane Education Of The Counselors In Higher Vocational Colleges

Nowadays the nationwide higher vocational education is in a fast-developing period, while valuing vocational education and professional education, the lack of humane education becomes more and more pervasive, the humane quality of the students in higher vocational colleges is not so high. This paper do some research on the situation of humane education in vocational colleges, especially discuss the role which the counselor plays in humane education. The first part of this paper analyzes the meaning and effect of humane education, then analyzes the importance of having humane education in vocational colleges from four aspects as follows: attaching great importance to the college students'humane education by both the party and the government; the need of the development of technology and improvement of society; the requirement of achieving the goal of higher vocational education; and the demand of the college students'integrated development. The second part analyzes the characteristics of the humane educational object, and the characteristics of the humane education in higher vocational college, points out that the humane education can help improving the students'personality and work ethic. Then the paper discusses the current situation of humane education in vocational colleges by describing the information of the humane courses'setting, teacher resources, the humane environment and atmosphere of college and so on. Then the paper tries to find out the reasons of humane education failed from the society, vocational college, and the students themselves respectively. The third part represents the functions of the counselor in higher vocational college, especially the functions in humane education, the counselor is the guide of the students'growth; the instructor of improving the students'studying, living and working; the disseminator of humane knowledge to the students; the builder of the students'humane spirit. The fourth part searches the ways for the counselor to provide humane education, such as taking part into the construction of the campus culture, daily teaching, organizing the social practice activities inside and outside the college, improving the skills of serving the students, being a model for the students and so on, therefore, to improve the humane quality of the students in higher vocational colleges.
