Objective: to investigate whether the affiliated hospitals can meet the practice demands of all the interns, including both overseas and Chinese students, and the factors influencing the quality of practicing medicine. Make preliminary analysis of these influence factors to provide the theory basis for further improving practical teaching quality of Soochow University. Methods: using cluster sampling, carry on questionnaire survey of all the domestic and foreign interns majored in clinical medicine of 2006 grade in both the first and the second affiliated hospital. To survey data using SAS9.13 to perform a chi-square test, rank and inspection and multiple linear regression analysis.Result:the internship quality of foreign students is related to the teachers' level, practice chance and case discussion. The Chinese student's internship is also related to teacher-student ratio and how long the intern lasts. The practice quality of Chinese and foreign students has shown great differences, the latter is worse. The basic skills of collecting case history and disease diagnosis don't meet standards, language being the main barrier.Preparing for the entrance exam of graduate studies, hunting for job and no opportunity to practice produces huge impact on Chinese interns. Conclusion:emphasis on medical Chinese language teaching to foreign students , suggest to take interacting ways and improve the proportion of practice.Soochow University should pay more attention to ideological and moral education, help students to set up correct professional value orientation, open《medical literature retrieval》course, thereby improving the quality of the medical students.
