Education reform in China has entered a new development stage with recent promulgation and implementation of National mid-term and long-term education reform and development program outline(2010—2012). In this competitive new century, education reformers from different countries have already been aware of that establishment of a high-level teacher team is crucial to enhance overall strength of a country, and continuously improving professional development level of our country's teacher is also the only way to achieve great rejuvenation of Chinese nation. Western Development has been implemented for decades, we again focus on professional development situation of Chinese language teachers in middle school of Xining City, which is a reprehensive western city, to discover problems and propose effective measures for the purpose of promoting professional development of Chinese language teachers in Xining City and elevating overall education quality of Qinghai Province to realize a balanced education.Methods such as survey and research method, documentary study method and comparative historical method have been used in this paper, and this paper is divided into four parts: The first part is introduction, which includes background of this research topic, current research status, definition of relevant concept, significance of research and research method. Analysis of basic situation about professional development of Chinese language teachers in Xining area from both internal and external environment have started in part two. Third part comes to analysis of cases which comprise excellent Chinese language teachers, common Chinese language teachers and cadet teachers for the sake of a more comprehensive analysis. The forth part comprises both overall reflection of part two and part three and corresponding countermeasures which demonstrate that Chinese language teachers in Xining City should take the initiative to enhance their own professional development level through reading combined with thinking, together with real mode of practice and writing, to make some reference to professional development of Chinese language teachers in Xining area.
