Second, investigating specific issues of high school physics teaching by questionnaire in support of the theoretical part. Including the content of physics elective courses and curriculum model and student's challenge about high level physics and the investigation on the examination and evaluation. Finally, this article base on the shortcomings in the status of implementation and learn from the success experience of the U.S. in AP physics course in order to search some enlightenment.Survey results show that the status of implementation of high school physics elective courses is not very good. It mainly reflected as the following: first, students do not have autonomous on elective courses. Second, the physical content of elective courses can not meet the needs of students. Third, the curriculum model is questionable. Forth, the educational resources that can meet the need of students who want to challenge high level physics knowledge are not enough.
