Student engagement is the initiative experience of individual students; in the process of engagement, the students' behaviors engage as a carrier, along with psychology activities including emotional and cognitive involvement. Researches about student engagement in pedagogic are of detailed and in-depth both at home and abroad. And, though students engagement is no longer a new issue, to study it from the perspective of behavior engagement, affective engagement,and cognitive engagement is still very little. For this, the author conducted this investigation.The method of this research is documentary study,case study and class observation. According to education teaching practice, I summarize some methods and characteristics of Students participate in English class. And found that there are still a lot of problems in the process of engagement, such as:passive engagement in class; some students' class participation is limited to answer the question; The student engagement is the means of teaching organization for teachers only; part of the student's participation is subject teachers; some students due to a lack of self-confidence; some students couldn't find the right English to express and so on.Under the guidance of constructivist learning theory, humanistic psychology, interpersonal teaching theory and cooperative learning theory, and based on learning characteristics of primary school students, this paper put forward corresponding strategies. This involve to learn students previous knowledge, so that it promotes students engagement; to establish harmonious teacher-student relations, so that it promotes students engagement; to improve the relationship between student and student, so that it promotes students engagement; to optimize the use of teaching methods, to ensure full participation of students; to grasp the classroom dynamic generation to enhance the effectiveness of student participation. Also puts forward in the teaching of English in primary schools to promote students' participation in classroom teaching strategies to some problems which should be paid attention to. Such as try to realize "face all student"; try to do respect for differences, harmonious get along; efforts to narrow the gap, to promote the students' individual character, etc.
