As the reform of new curriculum has been being deepened, there are still some teaching approaches or methods lagging behind in the teaching of classical Chinese, such as some teachers still depend on the translation of the text, and students are busy memorizing the meaning of each character or the translation of each sentence, even they do not know what usage these knowledge have. Meanwhile, teachers and students are not all-inclusive when handling classical Chinese:whether accept with no doubt or negate totally. These two attitudes are both not correct, and to some extent influence the effect of classical Chinese teaching. Therefore, the author considers that the better way to teach and learn classical Chinese is not merely about translation, but about interpretation, ie, to interpret the texts in modern language, especially in a modern situation. What exactly should teachers and students do in order to realize this interpretation? To try to find the same essence of classics and modern culture, and to combine them together is very important. In this way, students do not think the classical Chinese is far away form them, but they can feel the essence still exist in modern society. After learning the texts, students could know more than just the old characters and sentences, but also the spirit which is still popular in the modern society. This can arouse students' interests, so that the assumption of effective classical Chinese education in middle school is realized.
