Looking into different editions of Chinese course books, we can find that prose undoubtedly takes up the biggest portion of the content. However, the advantage in the portion hasn't already made fundamental progress in prose-teaching development. The current situation is that teachers usually make random decisions on prose-teaching. They use personal experiences to decide what to teach and how to teach it or they just imitate others'teaching procedures without any modification. The situation is closely related to the lack in knowledge of prose-choosing standard and approaches of prose-teaching.Through my investigation, I find that the contents of prose-teaching have still being swung at both ends of'tool-oriented'andumanity-oriented'. Although we can choose the contents in many different ways, such as, types of literature, stylistic features, interests and taste, writers and writers' feelings and expressions, subject-involved knowledge. We must consider about the reliability and the feasibility of the contents in the case of Chinese teaching material. A prose which will be taught should have reliability and feasibility. If not or only alternative, it will reduce teaching effects.This research follows the requirements of Modern and Contemporary Prose by Chinese Curriculum Standard and its nature. The aim of this research is to analyze the texts of prose in four latitudes by micro-analysis method. Four latitudes are the perspective of writers'personalized views, personalized writing objects, individualized expression and individualized interests. And the research is to practice teaching in three aspects, personalized views, individualized expression and individualized interests, to explore how to choose prose for teaching properly.This paper goes through three steps. The first step is to search and sort current findings and then set up the framework. The second step is to analyze Chinese Curriculum and prose texts to discuss the six principles and four altitudes of choosing prose for teaching. The third step is to practice teaching in three aspects, personalized views, individualized expression and individualized interests, to explore the approaches of choosing prose for teaching properly.In this paper, the specific structure as follows:Chapter One. Introduction:Introduce the origin of the research in prose-content choice; literature-review on the research in this field; determine the research target, contents, value, structure and approaches; define the core concepts, 'prose','prose for teaching', 'micro-analysis'; and set up the framework.Chapter Two:Discuss the prose-choosing based on micro-analysis in three aspects:value and significance, guidance on the basis, dimensions of thinking. Explore the reliability and the feasibility of prose-choosing.Chapter Three:Demonstrate the teaching practicing of the View of Father s Back to micro-analyze the perspective of writer's personalized views, and summarize the approaches. Chapter Four:Demonstrate the teaching practicing of the Waist Drum of Ansai. use Reduction Comparison Method to analyze the benefit of using individualized expression.Chapter Five:Demonstrate the prose-interpretation of the Kite. Micro-analyze the individualized interests shown in the text and explore the approaches of choosing prose for teaching.Chapter Six. Conclusion:Micro-analysis plays an important role in prose-choosing. And a new suggestion:teachers can determine a certain prose from the view of literary stylistics.The characteristics and innovative points of this paper are:finding a feasible approach of prose-choosing because of employing micro-analysis theory; advocating four altitudes in prose-choosing:trying three different and effective ways of prose-choosing and demonstrate teaching practicing examples.
