This research selects learning motivation as the cut-in point, to research the relationships between learning motivation and autonomous learning. The results confirm that the influence of learning motivation on autonomous learning is significant.According to an investigation of a few college students of different genders. different degrees, different grades, different majors with a questionnaire, the research showed the general state and each dimensions of the college students' learning motivation, determined the facts that influence their autonomous learning, found out the factors of learning motivation that significantly affecting autonomous learning, and finally proposed a few suggestions and countermeasures in order to promote the college students' autonomous learning.Based on the existing research and the questionnaire method, this research used a Learning Motivation Questionnaire and a self-made Autonomous Learning Questionnaire as the measuring instrument, investigated the learning motivation and autonomous learning level of 152 college students. The results are as follows:1. There is a positive correlation between college students' learning motivation and their autonomous learning. Specifically speaking:Firstly, the level of making learning targets and plans in autonomous learning are positively related to the learning motivation of knowledge seeking, social-orientation, and they are negatively related to the learning motivation of material pursuit. Secondly, the level of self-monitoring and self-assessment in autonomous learning is positively related to the learning motivation of knowledge seeking, social-orientation, avoiding failure. Thirdly, the level of self-evaluation in autonomous learning is positively related to the learning motivation of avoiding failure.2. The regression of college students' learning motivation to the autonomous learning is significant. Specifically speaking:Firstly, the regression of social-orientation and material pursuit to making learning targets and plans is significant. Secondly, the regression of avoiding failure to self-monitoring and self-assessment is significant. Thirdly, the regression of avoiding failure to self-evaluation is significant.3. There are significant difference in making learning targets and plans and self-monitoring and self-assessment of autonomous learning with different degrees.4. There are significant differences in self-evaluation of autonomous learning with different majors.5. There are no significant difference in each dimension of autonomous learning with different genders and grades.According to the results of investigation, the research analyzed the reasons. Then, based on the results and analysis, the research proposed a few strategies and suggestions to promote the autonomous learning of college students.
