With the development of educational informatization and the further depth of new round curriculum reform, Information Technology (IT) Education occupies a decisive position. And the key point of IT Education lies in IT teachers. The development of professional level for IT teacher influences effectiveness of New Course Notion directly. At present, the practice of IT Education in rural areas is unsatisfactory due to economic and other factors. Teachers who take charge of IT Education are seemed to be unvalued, which obstructs the development of education informatization. And then it requires building a team of high qualified IT faculty to promote specialized level in the field of IT Education.First of all, the author states Teachers'specialization theory and IT teachers'professional growth. Secondly, the author analyses general situation of IT Education and teachers in rural areas as well as new curriculum reform's requests for IT teachers. In the last place, the author discusses the important factors which affect the professional development by surveying and analyzing the status of development of middle school IT teachers in rural areas in Jilin Province, and then set forth feasible advices by using the mentioned analysis result. And the author puts her hopes on that this issue could be emphasized by related educational institution and expects the related institutions will take suitable strategies to promote IT Education development in rural areas and further to promote balanced development of urban and rural education. In view of the similarities among domestic rural middle and primary schools, although this case studies on rural middle school IT teachers in Jilin province, it will not only be one case for promoting specialization development of IT faculty in rural areas of Jilin Province, but also can be a valued reference for teachers, educators and related school administrators in nationwide rural areas.
