Comparison Research On The Policy Of Student Aid Between China And America

With the development of higher education from elite education to mass education in China, the problems of aiding those who have difficulties in affording the fees become more and more distinctive. It is an important issue to make sure they have the opportunities to receive the higher education, to avoid them discontinue their studying, and to improve the student aiding policies.As a representative model of mixed student aid, the policy of student aid of America not only plays an important role in the development of its higher education, but also has important meaning to the revolution and reformation of student aid all over the world. To solve the difficulty of students who come from low-income families, the US government has built a pattern that centers the federal government and state government with the corporation of the universities and various organizations and it turns out effective and contributes a lot the development of US higher education. Therefore, it is necessary to study the pattern.Combining literature research and comparative study, the paper shows the difference between the history and status quo within studying student aiding policy of China and America. Given the problems of student aid in China and the experiences of America, the author tries to give some advice:building the student aiding legal system; improving the system of student aid; establishing the uniform standard and procedure of identifying poor students; establishing the mechanism of information sharing; expanding the channels to increase the gross funds; According to the effective aiding system of America and the situation of China, we should build the rational student aiding system.
