The author found that at present the writing level of many students is not very high. This paper tries to explore an effective teaching method for argumentative writing in senior high schools from the following aspects: the accumulation of writing materials, the basic practice for argumentative writing and the effective teaching for argumentative writing.The deficiency of argumentative writing material has been a main problem for senior high school students. Students can improve certain writing level by reading some extracurricular books, learning widely and keeping a retentive memory. But according to the current situation of the high school students, they do not "read ten thousand books, traveling thousands of miles", so their compositions are often "impoverished", having nothing to say. Therefore, extensive collection of extracurricular writing material is "Arabian nights". At this time, we can transform the ideas and combine with the teaching material to accomplish a good composition. This paper tries to offer methods in increasing the accumulation of materials for students from the textbook and the situation before class and after class.As everyone knows, the college entrance examination in recent years has greatly weakened students awareness of analyzing the topic, but it does not mean we could ignore the topic. In fact, the college entrance examination in 2011 began to pay more attention to the topic. As is reflected in the survey, the reason why students can not get high grades for the composition is that they do not have a clear idea for the topic. The author thinks that teachers should possess the awareness of telling the students how to analyze the topic. Only in this way can we develop students thinking, let them know how to do it and achieve the first step for effective composition teaching. This paper guides students to make basic practice for writing from the following three aspects:having a good understanding of the topic, clearing the frame structure of the essay and mastering the key points in writing.Now students will meet a lot of difficulties in writing essays. These difficulties are like stumbling blocks, preventing them from learning the argumentative writing. We can effectively improve the effectiveness of argumentative writing teaching in senior high schools by removing these obstacles. To solve these difficult problems, we must seek a good strategy to improve the effect of teaching and ensure effective teaching strategy for argumentative writing. This paper tries to help students apply the writing skills that they have learned by asking them to write informal essays to stimulate their interest, speaking some good classical models to improve their writing skills, stressing checking the essays face to face and solving difficult problems to seek a good method, doing mutual check to ensure the effectiveness of checking compositions. The author hopes to help students grasp the skills of writing argumentative essays by mastering the above methods.In a word, the effective teaching for argumentative writing is a long and complex system. This paper gives some superficial advice from the above aspects, hoping to give students who are in trouble some help.
