Reform and opening-up and the socialist market economy have brought new opportunities to China's higher education. As an important part of higher education, higher vocational education has accounted for more than half of higher education in China. The development of higher vocational colleges and universities relies on the talents, and the cultivation of talents depends on policy. Research on the incentive mechanism of teachers in Higher Vocational Colleges aims at exploring an effective system to reflect the interaction between the main incentive part and the incentive object.Being problem oriented, this paper selects a higher vocational school in Zhejiang as a case, and takes its current situation of teachers as a starting point. On the basis of typical case study, the paper analyzes the college teachers'motivation problem deeply, and tries to put forward the corresponding optimization strategies.The first part of this paper is an opening introduction which consists of research background, research goals and significance, methods and contents, as well as the characteristic and innovation.The second part is the theoretical basis of this study. The author builts a complete theoretical framework including four dimensions, which are the meaning of incentive, the incentive mechanism, motivation theories home and abroad, as well as the researches on motivation of knowledge workers.Further more, this part summarizes the internal logic relationship among the various theories systematically.The third part of the paper analyzes the current situation of the Teachers' incentive mechanism of the vocational college.Firstly, this part introduces the background of the school.Then raises existing problem of the present incentive mechanism and analyzes the possible causes.The fourth part is the main part of this paper. On the basis of the investigation, the writer explores the labor features, demand characteristics, as well as the design principles of incentive mechanism for the vocational college teachers. Then tries to explore the corresponding optimizing strategies from several aspects, which include the pay system, employment, performance assessment, incentive mechanism for "double-qualified" teachers, promotion and training methods.The last part is the conclusion. It sums up the discoveries, shortcomings and prospects of the research.
