At present, there are many reports about the changes of blood indexes of athletes and rats after training. But few reports describe the changes of iron metabolism by exercises in the blood, as well as the physiological mechanism. Items of blood iron condition, the amount of iron in tissues and the enzyme activities were measured in the previous studies, but little is known about the mechanism of iron utilization after exercise. Nowadays, it is widely accepted that exercise-induced iron deficiency is a kind of real iron deficiency. It is a type of iron deficiency that can even induce anemia. The reasons are related to the negative iron balance caused by lack of iron supplement and more iron loss during exercise, iron redistribution caused by hemolysis of red cells and dilution of blood by more blood volume. The aim of the present study is to solve the problem that how we should reasonably arrange exercises, so as to mobilize the iron metabolism and prevent iron-deficiency-induced anemia.According to student physical health survey, several indexes of student's physical quality are falling. In order to encourage students to take exercises more actively, colleges add sports courses to cater students, among which aerobics is included. In order to discuss the impacts of aerobics on physical quality, blood indexes and iron metabolism, in the present study, the college students were divided into 2 groups. The first group was comprised of 40 persons (20 boys and 20 girls) who had one aerobics course per week, following the amount and intensity of exercise on current teaching program. The second group was comprised of 15 aerobics athletes (9 boys and 6 girls) of Qingdao University who had six aerobics trainings per week. After 12 weeks of aerobics training, the blood indexes, serum ferritin and transferrin content were measured. The results were as follows: 1. Five indicators of general group were obviously improved, the body fat rates were significantly decreased (P<0.01) and the lean body weight was increased (P<0.05)2. Sit-ups,100-meter run and 800-meter run, which were included in five indicators of athletes group, were obviously changed (P<0.05), body fat rates and lean body weight were not changed.3. After 12 weeks training, red blood cell count, content of hemoglobin, hematocrit, mean corpuscular volume, red cell distribution width, hemoglobin concentration and blood platelet numbers of general group were not significantly changed. There were no changes observed in serum ferritin and transferrin content.4. After 12 weeks training, red blood cell count, content of Hemoglobin, Hematocrit, mean corpuscular volume, Hemoglobin concentration and transferrin of athletes group were significantly decreased (P<0.05), however, serum ferritin was increased (P<0.05)So after 12 weeks training, normal indicators of general group were better than athletes group, and blood indexes were basically no changed. On the otherwise, blood index, ferritin and transferrin of athletes group were changed after 12 weeks training. Then we can testify whether Physical education teacher teaching content (amount and intensity of exercise) in colleges is suitable, and provide useful advice to instruct the Physical education teacher teaching departments to choose more scientific teaching modes and measures to improve the constitution of college students.
