As the rapid development of information technology and the gradual advance ofeducation reform today, integrating modern information technology with different subjects isnot only the demands of times, but also the requirements of promoting the basic educationreform and improving the national quality. At present the multimedia assisted teachingmethod has been applied generally in the history teaching, and emerged many research results.According to a preliminary investigation of the second middle school in Xinxiang, the thesisdevoted to discovering the situation of the multimedia assisted senior history teaching, findingout the problems and discussing how to solve them, so as to offer some revelations for thedevelopment of multimedia assisted history teaching.The survey is conducted among senior high school's history teachers and students in thesecond middle school in Xinxiang, with questionnaire, interviews and observation in historyclassroom. The research results indicate that: The environment of multimedia teaching isgood in the second middle school in Xinxiang; most teachers and students have a positiveview on the multimedia assisted senior history teaching; teachers are increasingly skilled onusing the multimedia, and many teacherscan use multimedia reasonably on the basis of the history curriculum and the needs ofstudents; multimedia assisted senior history teaching can improve the achievement and abilityof students; the teacher-student interaction is in good condition in most classrooms ofmultimedia assisted senior history teaching.All the research results in this essay also show that, compared with vigorous theoreticalstudies of multimedia assisted history teaching, there are still some limitations in thedevelopment of actual classroom teaching practices. In the actual teaching, there are a number of subjective and objective factors restricting the multimedia assisted history teaching to playthe role. For instance: the multimedia device's shortcomings and limitations; the poorteaching level and multimedia using skills of teachers; the improper learning attitude,methods and habits of students.For the phenomena and problems of multimedia assisted history teaching reflected in theresearch, this paper put forward the following suggestions: schools and education departmentsshould strengthen teacher training and assessment, also increase investment on multimediateaching facilities. Teachers need to establish a correct concept of multi-media teaching, dealwith the relationship between teachers, students, materials and media flexibly; improve theskills of applying multimedia, and lead students to engage in classroom interaction; payattention to the combination between traditional teaching and modern teaching methods;update the educational idea, grasp of their own roles accurately. Students should correctattitude towards learning to play the motivation to learn; participate in classroomteacher-student interaction actively; cultivate good interest in learning and habits.As the object of this investigation involved only a sample from the second middle schoolin Xinxiang, it is not broadly representative. In addition, due to my limited capacity and lackof experience, the conclusions obtained in this thesis leave much to be improved.
