Since the early80s, many scholars do lots of researches about the teachers' professional development in and abroad. The teachers play important roles in the New Curriculum Reform which we are in. So how to make the teachers accept the new concepts and put it into practice is still important. If we want to realize them,we need the teachers'professional development. The English teachers of junior middle school as a special group, who have the particularity professional development. How to make the teachers get the goals become the center of the New Curriculum Reform. The curriculum standard as a leading documents, the teacher's professional development is whether based on it.So the author do some studies about the problem to find the relationship between the teachers'professional development and the curriculum standard.This paper is made of five parts:Introduction:this part makes a brief introduction about the background significance, innovation and deficiency of the paper, and tell us the reason why the author choose the title by the review of the literature in and abroad.Part one:the author describes the theories which are related to the teachers' professional development, and constructs a teachers'professional development structure according to the studies and the characteristics of the junior middle school English subject,which includes four parts, the teacher's beliefs, professional knowledge, professional ability and the teacher's professional consciousness. At the same time,the author analysis the factors which influence the teachers'professional development.Part two:The Engish teachers must know the correct teaching aims. The teaching aims are from the goals of the curriculum standard. and the content of the curriculum is the specification of the goals. the author make the comparisons from the goals and the contents of the eight curriculum standards, and find that the different curriculum standards have different impacts on the junior middle school English teachers' professional development. At the end of the part,the author tell us why the eight curriculum have little impact on the teachers'professional development.Part three:the author analysis the English teacher's professional development of the junior middle school which is based on the new curriculum standard. And the author find that the the new curriculum standard is good for the teachers'professional development.Part four:this part is based on the first three parts. The author make a summarize of the new curriculum standard which is good for the teachers'professional development. And the new curriculum standard should become the ideal way of the English teachers' professional development of the junior middle school. In order to make the curriculum standard do further influence to the teachers'professional development,the author want to put forward some proposal.And find that the frame structure of the new curriculum won't have a big change in a certain time,so the author give some advice to make the curriculum more perfect.. meantime the author offer other two advice that is professional guidance based on the curriculum standard and peer coaching based on the curriculum standard to make the junior middle school English teachers have a dialogue with the curriculum standard, and get their professional development.The last part is a conclusion. The author make a simple inductions of the research and point out the shortage of the study to make a further study.
