Consciousness is the essential feature to human and this feature determines spiritual life to be the nature of human existence. So the high quality of teachers' spiritual life is the precondition for teaching. However, the concerns about the kindergarteners in rural areas now are more focused on the external conditions, such as status,treatment,training and so on. It is lack of attentions to the kindergarteners' spiritual life. So the investigation on the spiritual life of kindergarten teachers in rural areas is helpful to know the existing conditions of kindergarteners in rural areas and it can provide some theoretical and practical foundation for the construction of preschool education teachers team.This research uses the method of the questionnaire and interview to survey the psychological life,cultural life and soul life of862rural kindergarten teachers in the state-supported poverty-stricken county from the middle,wes,south,north area in total of6counties from7provinces.The study finds that:(1) the life satisfaction of kindergarten teachers in poverty-stricken county is relatively high, and they always plow into the work although they also feel the pressure from the work;(2) the frequency of participating in cultural activities of kindergarten teachers is lower, and the time used for cultural activities is also not enough. In addition, most of teachers have a strong demand on traditional activities;(3) the professional identity and enthusiasm for the profession of preschool teachers in poverty-stricken county are both in a high level. They view the work of teaching as a career to pursue and the career is been their spiritual sustenance. About the life attitude, teachers believe that happiness consists in contentment;(4) the spiritual life quality of kindergarten teachers in poverty-stricken county is much higher. They are engaged in their work to taste the meaning of life and their motto is "simple life, happy life", they are not over pursuing creature comfort.In addition, this paper describes two main reasons of the kindergarten teachers' living status. We think the enough leisure time is the foundation to be happiness and to enjoy freedom. They also perceive the education mission in the leisure life. The traditional farming culture and Confucianism form teachers a moral belief to believe value justice above material interests and the spirit to be content with poverty. Finally, this paper gives some reflections on the two different approaches of teacher professional development, which is focusing on human spirituality or scientific rationalism. Then made some related suggestions to boost the teachers' self-confidence and to improve the quality of preschool education.
