Along with the development of space technology, in order to meet the miniaturization of equipment, modular, universal design requirements in space missions, the use of FPGA to achieve a variety of bus protocols and interface logic is a major trend in the future.MIL-STD-1553B is a centralized control mode, time division,command / response multiplex serial data bus standard. Because of its high reliability and flexibility, it has become a modern air-board interconnection system effective solution, widely used in aircraft, ships, tanks and other weapons platforms, in civilian areas of applications are increasingly widespread.Based on the understanding of MIL-STD-1553B bus,combined with the actual project needs, the paper designs and implements the 1553B Remote Terminal IP core based on FPGA. The paper first describes the 1553B bus protocol, and then by analyzing the function of Remote Terminal combined with project requirements, designs the hardware circuit using for the function verification of the IP core; then partitions the logic module of the Remote Terminal, and describes the design ideas, design process and simulation results analysis of each module in detail, after simulation and verification of its function, generates the bit stream file by EDA tools and downloads it into FPGA chip. Finally the paper introduced the Remote Terminal test and verification process. By the 1553B cable to connect the hardware interface circuit with the DDC's simulation tester card, designs the test environment of Remote Terminal IP core. By a variety of 1553B message type Initiated by the simulation tester card, test the Remote Terminal response, and give the test result analysis, which indicates that the logical design of Remote Terminal in compliance with the 1553B bus standard, 1553B communication messages can be achieved.On the basis of verification of RT IP core, combined with project requirements, the paper design the RS-485 circuit interface to connect to another board, through the use of RS-485 transceiver to achieve 1553B message communication by the RS-485 serial bus, and also achieves the command response.
