With the growing development of China's national defense modernization process, the MIL-STD-1553B (also called GJB289A-97 in China) standard bus is widely used in martial field. It is a type of modern communication bus that was imported to China from late 80s. Nowadays it has become a general communication bus technology which is widely used in modern avionics integrated system for its high stability and flexibility.As the basic unit of bus communication, the performance of 1553B bus interface module had been a key factor of integrated avionics system specifications. There are many types of domestic 1553B communication module interface; nevertheless, the designs bases on embedded chip are uncommon. The embedded has the advantages of small, light volume, good real-time performance, low power consumption, high stability and flexible interface.Based on the above-mentioned considerations, this paper introduces the design of transceiver control of MIL-STD-1553B bus by using DSP+FPGA platform and electrical connections of MIL-STD-1553B bus by using the transceiver controller and transformer. It includes hardware and software design. Conceptual schematic is provided in accordance with MIL-STD-1553B bus protocol standard. Thereafter, function modules were designed with the scheme requirement. This paper uses VHDL to describe the logic and behavior of each functional module in FPGA to implement 1553B code acceptance, send, conversion and information exchange to DSP. Texas Instruments (TI) TMS320F2812 DSP and C language compiler are used to the implementation of general control and communication scheduling.This scheme has been tested in 1553B bus communication system experiment and the planned result was achieved. Therefore, it could be used in practical application.
