The supplier, as the headstream of supply chain, provides the factors of production for production and business of manufacturer. The behavior of supplier is closely related to many respects (lead time, quality of products, cost management, inventory level, customer satisfaction and so on) of the downstream enterprise of supply chain. The occurrence of supplier risk probably cause supply chain, which was well-regulated originally, can't run properly, and affect the achievements of the whole supply chain. Thus, the evaluation and control of supplier risk is increasingly becoming an extremely important aspect of the supply chain risk management. The research background, realistic significance, domestic and foreign research present situation of supplier risk management, as well as the research content and method of the paper are introduced. On that basis, the basic concepts and theories of supply management and supply risk management are reviewed and the key points of supplier risk prevention and management are brought up, including supply chain partnership, the process and method of supplier selection and risk aversion mechanism. Referencing previous research achievements and expert experience, the risk evaluation index system of supplier is established and a new and referential method for the evaluation of supplier risk is proposed. Some analyses and reasoning are made on the evaluation index system of supplier risk so that the redundant index is reduced and the weight allocation is ascertained through applying the rough sets attribute reduction theory first. Since the unascertained measure model is very rigorous, the evaluation index space is divided sequentially and the assessment results are rational, reliable and effective, the unascertained measure model was used to assess the supplier risk. At last, through empirical study, taking a manufacturer's supplier as an example, rough sets and the unascertained measure model are applied to validate scientific, effective and rational of the method and results.
