With the development of productivity and economical, the relationship between city and city is more and more intimate,and urban agglomerations become the basic unit of international cooperation and competition,so accelerating the development of urban agglomerations and improving the competitiveness of urban agglomerations are the inevitable choice of some developing nations or regions to achieve the Economic great-lead-forward development increasingly. In China, Zhujiang River Delta urban agglomerations-Yangtze River Delta urban agglomerations and Circum-Bohai-Sea urban agglomerations are the toppest three of the major urban agglomerations,which are becoming the leader region of economic development and play an important part on the international cooperation and competition. Under this background, this Paper summarize the competitiveness of urban agglomerations theory and its practical results and takes the three toppest urban agglomerations as examples.Firstly, building the index system of the urban agglomerations competitiveness,then evaluating the overall competitiveness of the three toppest urban agglomerations by way of multi-dimensional multiplier rule. And on this basis,we can find out the regional difference of the comprehensive competitiveness and the characteristics of development and evolution.The main conclusions ofthis article are as follows:(1) Zhujiang River Delta urban agglomerations exceeded in the comprehensive competitiveness in 2008;(2)The comprehensive competitiveness of the toppest three of the major urban agglomerations has been enhanced gradually since 2005.Based on such understanding and stating, this paper advances corresponding countermeasure suggestions on the basis of the above analysis to enhance the overall competitiveness.
