Research On Total Factor Power Energy Efficiency And Its Determinants

The energy problem is the major issue that affects the overall in China's economic and social development. Saving energy and improving energy efficiency become an extreme important and effective way to cope energy challenges. As a main variety in the consumption of energy, power becomes more important in the industrialization and urbanization of China. Improving the power energy efficiency is of great significance to alleviate china's energy shortage and to realize the energy saving policies.This paper constructs the conceptual framework of total factor consumption efficiency of power energy based on analyzing energy and energy efficiency, and calculates the power energy efficiency of the nation, province and industry respectively based on the DEA method. Then use econometric method of power energy efficiency for the empirical research of the influencing factors. The results of the study indicate that: from the national level, the electric energy efficiency has large volatilities, and raising the level of technology efficiency and the level of opening up can improve the electric energy efficiency. From the provincial level, the eastern, central and western regions are remarkably different, and the technological progress and industrial structure have played an active role to electric energy efficiency. From the industrial level, industrial electric energy efficiency of overall level is low, which have great potential of energy saving, and industry structure and technical progress are the most important roles in promoting electric energy efficiency, but industry concentration and electricity prices crimped promotion of power efficiency, and property right structure shows fluctuating to the influence of the electric energy efficiency because of different industry. On the basis of the above analysis, the paper discusses how to improve our power energy consumption efficiency and put forward relevant policy suggestions.
