With the development of the economic globalization, competition between countries and regions becomes increasingly intensified. The vitality of traditional cost competition is weaker and weaker; market competition has entered to the brand era. The competitiveness of brand affects the enterprises, regions and evens a country's competitiveness directly. Meanwhile, economic globalization and the deepening of economic integration trend further highlights the importance of brand, and gradually forms a new strategic mode with the regional brand driving regional economic development A region who want to keep the high speed development of economy, must construct regional brand, and set up regional brand strategy. At present, the development of regional brand cluster becomes sharper and sharper in the developed countries and regions For instance, in the United States, there are lots of international brands, from internet, aircraft manufacturing, electronics and logistics to biological medicine, beer and so on; Germany's Mercedes, BMW, Volkswagen, Adidas etc have been winning for years in markets with its sharp brand; Beyond that, in our country, we also formed many sharp brands, such as Wenzhou's lighter brand clusters Jinjiang's sports shoes brand clusters, Qingdao's household appliance brand clusters, etc. In those areas, the brand as a bright banner reveals the economic and cultural characteristics of enterprise and region and gradually drives the development of local economic development.Regional brand drives the development of regional economy, having become a new strategic mode. Regional brand strategy will make each region from early unlike lily cost, high consumption, high pollution means of competition, and it is a higher stage of the regional competition.The building of regional brand needs the efforts of government intermediary organizations, and enterprises. The relationships among them are interrelated and restriction in the construction of regional brand tripartite, operation and the management process. The government plays a leading and guiding role; the role of the enterprise in resource allocation process is decisive; the intermediaries have transfer functions. Finally, with the efforts of government,enterprise,and intermediaries we hope to create outstanding regional brands and then promote development of regional economic rapidly and healthy.In first, This paper expounds the theory of regional brand theory and regional economic development; Then, with the starting points of the regional brand and regional economic development, the paper studies the interactive relationship between regional brand and regional economic development; Then introduces the present situation of economic development and brand of Dalian, through analyzing the forming of Dalian; Finally, Proposes some opinions across discussing the idea through the elaboration to promote regional economic development.
