In the context of risk society, the Shandong tourism market faces challenges from both internal and external risks as Shandong Province marches towards a region with a well developed tourist industry. However, the lack of risk awareness and risk management laws and regulations and the traditional risk control mechanism centered on dealing with "tourism public emergencies" has made it very difficult for tourism administrations to respond quickly. The thesis purports to review and rethink the existing risk control mechanism in the tourism market and try to rebuild and improve it. Base on the in-depth analysis of the problems, the thesis also draws on the latest risk management theory and practice at home and abroad, especially the theory of enterprise management risk. In the process, risks that may exist in the Shandong tourism market are identified and assessed with both qualitative and quantitative approaches, risk management organizations are then restructured, risk control process is rationalized, risk control prevention measures are improved and a new Shandong tourism market risk control and prevention mechanism will be built, with organization, process and system integrated into one, where prevention and control are both important and prevention is the priority.The thesis is made up of four chapters:Chapter 1, the introduction, defines the research background, purpose and significance of the thesis, reveals the status quo of domestic and overseas research on tourism market risk control theory, and makes a brief introduction on the research thoughts, process methodology as well as the framework of the thesis.Chapter 2 introduces the basic concepts of risk management theory and tourism market risk management. An overview of the basic concepts, movement rules and function of risk management theory is first summarize followed by an analysis on the basic concepts, categorization and features of adopting risk management theory in tourism market, forming an overall understanding on risk management theory and tourism market risk management.Chapter 3 is dedicated to the analysis of the current situation in tourism market risk management in Shandong in ways of field research, literature review and case study. The problems existing in the current risk control mechanism is analysed in several aspects including organization structure, operational mechanism and system measures.Chapter 4 focuses on the building of a new mechanism and offers suggestions in that regard. First, the thoughts for building a new mechanism for tourism market risk control in Shandong are made clear by directing to the problems of the current mechanism and in reference of the relevant experiences both at home and abroad. Then the new risk control mechanism three is presented in three aspects including organizational structure, control process and system measures. Suggestions are made at the end for further improving the new mechanism.
