In recent years, the demand for sodium methoxide has been increasing in medicine and pesticide in China, so the expansion of sodium methoxide production is imperative. The alkaline process of sodium methoxide of chemical industry has many hazardous factors. Along with the rapid development of modern chemical production, the scale of chemical production is becoming larger and larger, which results in serious safety problems. In order to understand the degree, consequence and effect range of fire, explosion, leakage accidents, people have summarized various methods of risk assessment and prediction model of accident consequences through the analysis of accident. However, evaluating the same assessment unit with different evaluation methods may produce considerably different results because these methods are developed according to different evaluation objects, which make security officer cannot objectively understand the level of dangerous. Therefore, reasonable selection of evaluation method becomes very important. If the selection of evaluation method is inappropriate, evaluation result may vary greatly from the real situation. Then if safety measures were taken according to this result, accident consequences would be severe.In this dissertation, risk evaluation is finished by using some successful assessment methods extensively in safety fields including DOW index method, ICI MOND method and etc. Through theoretical analysis and expert consultation, 12 representative indexes that have typical significances are selected to build the project safety risk evaluation index system. By using the relevant standards of safety fields and evaluation contents of risk assessment method, assessment criterion of every evaluation index is explained in detail. Fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model is chosen to be the calculation method and index weight and risk level are evaluated by experts. Index weights are calculated based on experts'knowledge. Indexes of safety monitoring and protection are the most important one according to index weights calculation. After the real situation is compared with the standard of classification, risk rank of every index can be determined. According to the maximum membership degree principle, the level of safety risk assessment is Levelâ…£(Lower risk) and then 31 safety countermeasures involving four aspects are put forward.
