The presence of the large amount of peasant was once the common social problem in both western countries and China. They were transformed successfully and were extinct with the help of the Industrial Revolution between 17 to 18 centuries. However, they have not been transformed successfully in China and this resulted in the Peasant Problem in China. Especially in nowadays, our country is still a peasant dominated country and the Peasant Problem is becoming very severely and tending to be a very big social and political problem although it's implementing modernization and industrialization reformation of its agriculture step by step.The Peasant is originated with the development of the agriculture. They acted different roles and had different social status in different social forms. The Peasant Problem has evolved during the development. This research puts the Peasant in the river of the historical development and analyzes the issue by the vertical and horizontal aspects, i.e. the macro historical transformation and the differences of the Chinese peasant and the westerns'. The nature of the Chinese Peasant is also analyzed through the research.The research divided the peasant history into four stages: Traditional Society, Chinese near contemporary history, Modern Society, and Contemporary society. Their deferent status and roles were analyzed in the four societies in China as well as in the western countries. In the traditional society, the Peasant is not a problem because they are the main body of the society and agriculture is the only industry. In the Chinese near contemporary society, the status of the peasant was deteriorating and the Peasant Problem was emerged because the development of the industrials. In modern society, the Peasant Problem became acute. In the Contemporary society, the status of the Peasant was changed by the Reform and opening-up policy. But the inherited old system disturbed the transformation of the Peasant. The status of the Peasant is under great changes in the 21 century. But the Peasant Problem still exists. However, the problem was successfully solved in the Industrial Revolution. Through the analysis of the peasant transform in China and the Comparison between china and the western courtiers, we came to this conclusion that the Peasant is a hangover group during the peasant transformation and the Peasant Problem is a hangover problem.
