Internet business is expanding, so there is an enormous market opportunity for China's Internet in the growth stage of the Internet. Countless entrepreneurs involved in establishing business in internet industry. They need theories to guide them or learn from other successes and failures. However, the rising of internet has been no more than a decade and current it still undergoes major changes continuously. The theoretical research speed on the Internet start-ups of domestic and foreign scholars is far behind the speed of development of the internet industry now. It is rarely seen on inter entrepreneurial opportunity research. Others, internet industry is quite different with traditional industries in the aspects of entrepreneurial opportunity. Traditional theories on establishment of business enterprise are of limit usage here.On the theory to guide Internet business, First of all, an overview is given on the basis theory of entrepreneurial opportunity research. This paper takes the basis theory of entrepreneurial opportunity research into consideration, analyzes internet industry's characteristics from history, current status to trends and gives general suggestions to them on how to find business opportunity in Internet.Tencent and Alibaba and 8848.com's case is seleted for the study in this paper, we focus on the similarities and differences of entrepreneurial opportunity from discovery and identification to evaluation, and try to find gene of success and causes of failure. It validates the conceptual model from discovery and identification to evaluation of entrepreneurial opportunity.The paper aims at giving guidance or reference to the internet entrepreneurs how to find, identify and evaluate business opportunity in start-ups. It can help entrepreneurs to avoid unnecessary risks and to build up a new company successfully. |
