A Study On The Measure And Countermeasures For Energy Structure In Jiangsu Under Low-carbon Economy

The word "low-carbon economy" has been put forward for the first time in "For Our EnergyFuture: Creating A Low Carbon Economy", UK Energy White Paper2003, and has been widelyused after that. At present, to achieve sustainable development and to construct low-carbonsociety in the form of low-carbon economy mode and low-carbon lifestyle are not only China'sstrategic focus but also global consensus. The carbon emission level of Jiangsu Province alwaysaccounts for a high proportion in China's total carbon emission. According to statistics, theaverage annual growth rate of carbon dioxide emission discharge in Jiangsu Province is7.79%from2001to2010, higher than national6.67%the same period. And some countries emerge"carbon barrier" in the trade now. The emergent policy of carbon tariff will seriously affect theexport of Jiangsu Province. Therefore, Jiangsu Province should plan in advance and pay greatattention to low-carbon economy. Jiangsu Province owns little resource but consumes greatamount of energy. Its energy consumption accounts for a half of Yangtze River Delta region's,and coal consumption accounts for about66%of total energy consumption. So the task ofemission reduction is arduous. Facing the serious situation of tense energy supply, weakenvironmental carrying capacity and high requirement of energy-saving and emission-reduction,we should further mend our pace to adjust energy structure of our province and develop newenergy and renewable energy source.The thesis firstly summarizes low-carbon economy and energy structure based on theexisting literature, and then analyzes the present situation and problems of energy structure inJiangsu Province based on information entropy theory. The author suggests that coal-dominatedenergy structure of Jiangsu Province should be optimized, and low-carbon economy is the onlyway to optimize energy structure and achieve energy's sustainable development. The adjustmenton energy structure is imminent thing to deal with as well. The thesis focuses on complying withthe development trend and requirement of low-carbon economy, and the reasonable measure onenergy structure of Jiangsu Province. It is helpful for grasping and evaluating properly the levelof energy structure in Jiangsu Province. On the basis of above comprehensive analysis and withstrategic vision of development, the author makes research on adjustment path of energystructure in Jiangsu Province on the situation of low-carbon economy, proposes to walk the roadof energy information, and also provides scientific and rational basis and guidance for theadjustment direction and path of energy structure of Jiangsu Province in low-carbon economyera.
