The Research Of Urbanization Progress Strategy In Qibao Town Minhang District

This thesis analyzed the basic circumstance of urbanization, which is aworldwide trend nowadays. About55percent of world populations are living inthe cities, and the urbanization level in the developed countries is above70percent. The development of urbanization in our country has been undergoingrapid progress since the open policy started, especially that in urban-ruralintegrated area has been one of the hot issues, attracting attentions from homeand abroad. In recent years, China has made much progress in urbanization,meanwhile, some problems still exist, especially those in the process of theurbanization of urban-rural integrated areas, such as the development gap inurban and rural areas,"the city sickness" and the issue of sustainabledevelopment of collectively-owned economy etc. Therefore, it is necessary andimportant to discuss and explore the practical development strategy ofurbanization in urban-rural integrated areas at the present times. The thesis takesQibao town Minhang District Shanghai as an example, discussing the majorexisting problems in the process of urbanization development in urban-ruralintegrated areas. It also takes into account the successful experience ofurbanization practice in some cities in the nation and those in the developedcountries. It also proposes the basic guidelines of integrated and comprehensive development in urban and rural areas. The concrete methods include thefollowing: transit the urban development mode from external extension tointernal extension; emphasize comprehensively on various aspects, such asresidential flow, economic development, urban construction and social culture,instead of stressing on only one aspect; establish the long-term mechanism to there-construction of "urban village"; promote the sustainable development of thecollectively-owned land; adjust and optimize urban planning, and adhere to thepeasant interest oriented policy.Essentially, urbanization is both a complicated and systemized process,which is affected by various factors. In the process of urbanization ofurban-rural integrated areas, special attentions should be paid on comprehensivearrangements of urban and rural areas, diminishing of the gap between urbanand rural areas, steady guarantee the long-term interest of the peasants andcollectively-owned economy, and the establishment of modern municipalmanagement in the way of urban and rural integration. As a result, the landscapeand the environment will be optimized, the municipal functions and the livingstandard of the peasants will be promoted, and the soft power and the corecompetitive power of the cities will be greatly enhanced.
