Case Study On The Development Of Urbanization In Xizhuang Town

The large rural population amount and the enlarging urban-rural gap are basic national conditions in China. One important path choice to solve this rural issue is urbanization which is the socioeconomic development trend and a symbol of society progress. With the rapid development of Shanghai, Xinzhuang as a town of Shanghai metropolis, its urbanization is representative and has some practical significance, and make a positive effect to Minhang Distirct and southwest area of Shanghai. Therefore, this paper chooses Xinzhuang as the case to study the implementation path of urbanization development.First, this paper made an overall analysis on the development of urbanization in Xinzhuang Town. Now, Xinzhuang Town has come into urbanizing middle stage, which is also confronted with many problems, such as population inversion, multiple social conflicts, etc. By using SWOT method, this paper summarizes Xinzhuang Town’s own strengths and weaknesses, the opportunities and challenges facing. The opportunities come from the economic globalization and the regional economic integration in Yangtze river delta, the challenges are global financial crisis and the in-depth regional industries transfer. Good location, a long historic industry and a huge potential space exploitation are its own strengths, while its weaknesses is the conflict of urban construction and the raising enterprises operating costs. Based on all this, this paper analyses the current situation and problems of the economic and social aspects in the process of Xinzhuang Town’s urbanization, and put forward corresponding countermeasures.Secondly,Industrial restructuring is very important for Urbanization Development in economy. The research on Industrial restructuring in Xinzhuang is necessary. By study the tertiary-industry rate and urbanization rate, we can conclude that the industrial restructuring promote the development of urbanization of Xinzhuang. Further, we study the specific measures of Industrial restructuring in Xinzhuang. In the processes of industrial restructuring in Xinzhuang, we still face some problems. This thesis proposes some suggestions to solve those problems. Based on the present study, the author suggested that during the process of small town construction in metropolitan suburban areas, we should formulate strategies and measures consistent with the development of small cities and towns under an overall planning, rational aiming, and scientific guidance, increase policy support, and insist on sustainable development, and more.Finally, the thesis analyzes the social governance in the development of urbanization of Xinzhuang. In the urbanization process, involving the rapid flow of the population, will inevitably lead to social conflict-prone, and therefore the need for social governance. Social governance measures urbanization development in Xinzhuang town are: the ability to improve public services, the establishment of social risk assessment mechanism, improve the social security system, improve the system of grassroots participation in social management, urban and rural grassroots organizations advocating the ring interaction.
