With the tidal waves of China's reform and opening to the outside world and the looseness of household registration system, the income gap between urban and rural residents becomes bigger and bigger. More and more surplus rural laborers come to big cities to find a job, and finally it comes into'the tide of migrant workers'. In China, there is a special form of address for the laborers from rural area, which is'rural migrant workers'. Rural migrant workers in cities promote the construction and economy development in cities, but they also bring a series of problems. And there are so many factors to threaten social stability, such as low income, low status, low population quality, lack of social security, and employment discrimination. Once the rural migrant workers in cities get no security about their life and income, criminal behavior will come up, which will destroy the peace of harmonious society. This thesis starts with the angle of consumption, investigates the consumption behavior of rural migrant workers in cities, analyzes feature and question, finds out reason and influencing factor, and seeks the fundamental path and method to solve problems.There are five chapters in this thesis. Chapter 1 presents the background of the topic and predecessors'research, and summarizes the research achievements from worldwide scholars. Chapter 2 gives out survey questionnaires, collects and analyzes research data, and reveals the current consumption situation of rural migrant workers in cities. Chapter 3 sums up the characteristic and problems of consumption behavior on the basis of research data. Chapter 4 makes correlation analysis with SPSS statistical software, and finds out the main influencing factors to consumption behavior and consumption concept. Chapter 5 moves forward to discuss social problems that are reflected in front, and proposes suggestions.
