Application Of Six Sigma In Stainless Steel Cold Rolling Mill Of T Company

As a method of eliminating defects, six sigma was originated in 1980s and developed continually in practice. Not only as a quality-improving method, but also six sigma has developed into a complete set of management concepts and systematical methods which can keep enterprises improving continually, enhance the comprehensive competitive power, improve the level of customer satisfaction and operating performance constantly, and bring great profit to enterprises. This thesis systematically illustrates the application practices of six sigma in cold rolling mill of T company. At first, the application premise, administration model, system construction and project management method of six sigma are introduced in the cold rolling mill of T Company. Secondly, a detailed analysis on the DAMIC process in six sigma is shown. Meanwhile, one of the black belt projects of improving the thickness correctness of stainless steel cold rolling sheet is provided to show the application practices of six sigma in quality improving aspect of cold rolling mill as an example. Finally, the conclusion of the application of six sigma in cold rolling mill is given to provide some references for other metallurgical companies implementing six sigma.
