| In early 80s last century, a new attempt appeared in commercial Department in Motorola, and this attempt improvement method is called "Six Sigma". In order to improve the quality of product and service, and establish the quality management of "Zero defects", Motorola is the first company to apply Six Sigma to their process improvement and has got obviously success. The Six Sigma system is based on data and facts, aimed at satisfying and exceeding customer's requirement, on the basis of continual improvement of manufactory and service process. The target is to raise the efficiency and reducing cost, and its soul is that all staff are participating, establishing and improving the culture of company'quality. Some of the most successful companies, such as GE, SONY and so on contributed to making DMAIC of Six Sigma the most popular quality improvement system and proved that Six Sigma is a scientific and effective method.The essay is including two parts:one is the concept of Six Sigma and other is a detail case of the application of DMAIC method of Six Sigma on improving manufacture process.The author is working in an international manufactory company, and select a real Six Sigma project-G1 production improvement. The author uses DMAIC which is the main process of Six Sigma to describe the improving phases detailed and apply many Six Sigma methods, such as FMEA, GR&R, Fishbone and Plato chart to arrive at the target. Finally, the author compares the CPK (Process Capability index) and the beneficial of finance before and after improving, it's concluded that Six Sigma is a useful weapon for manufacturing companies to improve their competition capability.As an advanced quality management system, Six Sigma is little-known and its idea in mainland enterprises is still in primary stage. The author tries to according the theory of six sigma and practice of project G1 in M company, to build the six sigma process improvement system structure, and describe the details of six sigma tools DMAIC's methods and steps in projects. The article aim at assisting domestic manufacturing extend and implement Six Sigma successfully. |
